PIERCING AFTERCARE

Non-ORAL Piercing:

Spray Sterile Saline Wound Wash directly onto the piercing site, 2-3 times a day. Do not touch the jewelry. Do not twist, rotate, spin, or move the jewelry while cleaning; this is not necessary and can lead to further complications. Do not use any kind of rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, etc. to clean your new piercing. Keep any and all makeup away from the piercing site during the healing time, or as directed by your body art technician. Always be sure to wash your hands prior to cleaning said piercing; this will help to eliminate the risk of bacteria being transferred to the piercing site during the cleansing process.

Oral Piercing:

Use alcohol free mouth wash 3-5 times a day, especially after any sort of food consumption. Do not tongue at or play with the jewelry in any way. Keep a bottle of water readily available for at least the first 2 weeks to ensure that the piercing can still be rinsed out between mouthwash use. Try to refrain from smoking for the first 2 weeks, for this can prolong healing time. Try to refrain from drinking any kind of alcohol for at least the first 2 weeks. Alcohol can cause more damage to the healing tissue, cause excessive swelling, and prolong healing. Refrain from any type of french kissing or oral sex for a minimum of 6 weeks, for this will put the piercing at an extreme heightened risk for infection.

NOTE: For Lip, Monroe, and Angel Kiss piercings , follow the Oral piercing guidelines for cleaning the inside of the piercing, and follow the Non-Oral guidelines to properly cleanse the outside of the piercing.
